This movie proves that the series are not connected, in that they are set in different universes. A character called Master of Games summons the heroes from both series, and pits them against their alternate versions to determine which is best. Directed by Jeff Mednikow, the movie is set in the fifth season of Teen Titans Go! and after the finale of the original series and its film sequel, Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo. To ultimately understand what's happening in Teen Titans Go!, you don't need to watch the original series.Ī crossover movie between both series debuted in 2019, called Teen Titans Go! vs. The original Teen Titans is darker and more serious, while the spin-off is fun and silly. Teen Titans Go! is a standalone spin-off, different in its tone, style, storyline, episode lengths, and the books the characters are in. While Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! seem to be very alike, the similarities stop at the characters and setting. Starfire has the kindest soul on the Titans team, so she keeps forgiving Blackfire. The heroes are also based in a T-shaped tower called Titan Tower. Starfire has her own sibling rivalry with her older sister, Blackfire. Additionally, both series are set in the fictional city of Jump City. As they are villains, both series feature them committing some crime each episode, and the heroes must stop them. He has the ability to shape-shift into any animal - although they're always green.īesides superheroes, both Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! feature many of the same villains, including Gizmo, Blackfire, Mammoth, and Slade. Finally, Beast Boy is the entertainer and comic relief of the group he's always cracking jokes and is carefree. She has an immense power that can completely consume her if she doesn't keep it under control. Raven is quiet and mysterious like Robin, she prefers to keep to herself. Cyborg is half-human, half-robot he is very interested in technology and often makes inventions for the team and Titan Tower. Starfire is bubbly and sweet she's an alien that is new to earth, and, as such, is sometimes gullible and doesn't understand earth culture. Robin is the leader of the group he loves planning and perfection, and often keeps to himself. The heroes are Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy. Her apparent exit was left wide open so Damaris Lewis could very well return next season. Using that as a blueprint, there is a real chance that Blackfire could take a leave of absence from the show as she returns to Tamaran to become queen before returning at some point throughout the season. Remember, Conor Leslie and Teagan Croft were both series regulars this season even though they didn’t appear until the second half of it. While that didn’t happen, it doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Blackfire either. Lewis was promoted to series regular this season after two guest appearances in season 2, with fans thinking that Blackfire would be one of the villains of the show’s third outing. Blackfire’s decision to return to Tamaran does make it seem likely that this is the last we’ll see of her for a while, but it’s not clear if she’ll be returning to the show next season. It’s unknown if Damaris Lewis is leaving Titans at this point. With that in mind, what do we know about season 4? Will Damaris Lewis return? Is Blackfire leaving Titans? The show attempted to tease us with the possibility of her turning on her team, but she ultimately did not, constantly fighting alongside them (and even returning to them when she almost considered leaving).Įven though she chose the path of light, however, the season finale made it appear that she would be leaving the team after all. However, the story took her in a different direction as she convinced her sister to trust her, joined the Titans and fell for Conner. Portrayed by Damaris Lewis and set up as a villain from her introduction in season 2, it appeared that Komand’r was going to serve as one of season 3’s main antagonists (alongside Jason Todd/Red Hood). Titans season 3 had a lot of stories to balance, but one of its primary ones saw the return of Starfire’s sister Blackfire.
